We were pleasantly surprised by how amazing our stay was at Hana Kai Maui. After completing the road to Hana we were torn on if we should stay the night in Hana or head back. We popped in here on a whim and are so glad we did.

The one bedroom room was so spacious, with a full kitchen, living room, patio dining set, and a second porch. Plenty of sliding doors to allow airflow and privacy. The room was very clean.

The beach is right outside your door for amazing sunrise views. It’s a very quiet, relaxing experience.

The limited amount of Hana restaurants are walking distance. The employees were helpful and friendly.

No notes. Would love to come back and sad we only had one night!

As a long time kamaʻāina, we love staying at Hana Kai Resort in Hana town. It is so beautiful and peaceful and close to everything – want to go to Hana Bay? Hana Kai is close by/want to go to Wainapanapa? Hana Kai is close by/ want to hike to the cross above Hana? Hana Kai is close by/ want to go to Hasegawa’s General Store? Hana Kai is close – you get the idea.
Another thing about Hana Kai Resort that is little known is their commitment to our community. I operate a local nonprofit that helps the families of seriously ill children that must go off of their home island for major medical treatment (since the Neighbor Islands have very limited pediatric care units). Hana Kai Resort steps up every year to help in their quiet and kind way.

Best sunrise view in Hana! Do not let the non air-condition scare you...the open air allows for a cool ocean breeze in the morning, with a beautiful ocean front to walk along. Bring you water shoes for the walk and visit the general store in town to get your #survivedthehanahighway

Luxury Hotel Stay. Beautiful property. Close to Hāna attractions. We loved it. It was very pricey as expected.

My husband and I decided to stay in Hana last minute and we were not disappointed with these incredible views. I’m an AC loving gal and I had no problems feeling cool enough to relax as long as we kept the windows open, there was enough of a breeze to feel comfortable. (If you’re worried about being too hot) if you stay, be sure to go out and do some star gazing they were truly incredible. We stayed in unit 4.

We loved unit #2! We only stayed 1 night but wished we had a 2nd night. The view was perfection and I would have loved more time to explore the beach. The room had more than we needed for 1 night (well stocked kitchen, etc). We arrived late in the day and the after hours check in instructions were very clear. There was no A/C but there was a breeze and 2 fans provided (it was a little warm for sleeping. Not many places with A/C in the area...maybe the Hyatt, but it was much more $$ and I would choose the Hana Kai Maui resort again, if I return. Sunrise from the lanai and the beach was spectacular.

We loved our stay at Hana Kai Maui Resort. We stayed in room 201 and the view was amazing! The staff was very friendly and check-in was easy. Our favorite part was waking up to the sunrise and having coffee on the lanai. The stars are also amazing at night during a clear night. One thing to note is that although there is no AC at this hotel, there are plenty of fans and windows to keep the units cool at night. I highly recommend splitting up your Road to Hana adventure and staying here for a night or two if you have the time! Wish we could’ve stayed longer.
